Gynaecology
Gynaecology (see spelling differences) is the medical practice dealing with the health of the female reproductive systems (vagina, uterus, and ovaries) and the breasts. Outside medicine, the term means “the science of women”. Its counterpart is andrology, which deals with medical issues specific to the male reproductive system.
Gynecological centers
Infertility treatment level and quality in Iran is almost the same as developed countries, and regarding the low costs of these treatments, Iran has become one of the best centers of treating infertility. Iran has various services in following fields:
- Delivery (natural or cesarean), and maternal and health
- Internal medicine, women’s surgery, vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic and abdominal surgery, removal of the ovaries
- Oncology surgical treatment of the uterine, ovarian, and vaginal cancers
- Surgical repair of sagging uterus, rectum, various anomalies of the abdominal and vaginal walls, and urinary, genital or anogenital fistula
- Treatment of various fibroma
- Infertility treatment and embryo transfer
- Treatment of endometriosis
- Treatment of menstrual disorders
- Treatment of abnormal menstrual bleeding
- Periodic examination, annual checkup such as pap smears and pelvic exams
- Treatment of urinary-stress incontinence associated with pelvic organ prolapse by reducing the surgery time, hospital stay, medical costs, and its recurrence in patients
